U.S. Senate candidate Anne Evans Estabrook has a position on the war in Iraq, according to a letter her campaign exploratory committee sent to some Republicans in August:
I believe that the war in Iraq has been badly mismanaged. To resolve this issue, Congress must shift from trying to score political points to doing what is best for America and what is best for the men and women serving our country.
If elected, I would work toward finding a solution in Iraq that gets our troops home, not by creating artificial deadlines dictated by politics, but by pressuring Iraq to take more responsibility for securing their country by setting and holding to benchmarks measuring their success, and by engaging other countries oin that areas of the world in the process of stabilizing Iraq.
