Twinkle, Twinkle, Lots of Stars: Toot, toot—everyone hop aboard The Darjeeling Limited, as Wes Anderson’s stylized flick opens the New York Film Festival and there’s a bash on Tavern on the Green’s twinkly patio. The biggest shock of the film (besides the Bill Murray cameo, natch) is just how good Adrien Brody is … and how by the end of the picture you actually believe Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzman and Mr. Brody could be brothers. (We love you, Owen!) Meanwhile, it’s scarier than usual over at the scary-ass Javits Center, with a two-day Body Beautiful event, a.k.a. the “Ultimate Cosmetic Surgery Expo.” It will feature exhibitors from cosmetic surgery, laser procedures, weight loss, Lasik eye surgery, skin care, and pharmaceuticals—in other words, get your huge boobs here! And perhaps more terrifying still, bike teams the Lizzies and the Warriors pump up 5,000 cyclists—who insist on calling themselves “Bitches on Bikes” (sigh)—to ride 60 miles to raise money for a good cause, the MS Society.
