Lance wants action by attorney general

Senate Minority Leader Leonard Lance today called on Attorney General Anne Milgram to investigate the role Rocco Riccio was playing

Senate Minority Leader Leonard Lance today called on Attorney General Anne Milgram to investigate the role Rocco Riccio was playing as an analyst in the state’s Human Services Department.
"Tax records are sacrosanct," said Lance. "Any information that someone on the public payroll might be pouring through them for political reasons is disturbing, and the attorney general should flesh out the facts of this case as quickly as possible."

Riccio, who is the brother-in-law of Carla Katz, a former girlfriend of Gov Jon Corzine, before resigning his state job, "became the target of rumors that he had been improperly accessing taxpayer records — to find information about political enemies," according to the Star-Ledger. During three interviews last month, including one at his house, Riccio admitted that he had reviewed the tax bills of state vendors during his Human Services tenure but argued that it was an appropriate part of his job duties."
