September 11th. And is it just us, or does it feel extra scary this year for the anniversary to fall on a Tuesday? There are various events, such as a concert that will take place at over 80 venues across the city—including St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Madison Square Park and Rockefeller Center. Another memorial takes place at the New York Society for Ethical Culture in honor of the great Molly Ivins, who passed away in January. Expected to attend and speak are Calvin Trillin, Maya Angelou and Garrison Keillor. Of course, fashion doesn’t take a break just for a little bit of tragedy! Carmen Marc Valvo, wedding dress designer du jour Monique L’huillier, kooky-pants Betsey Johnson, Calvin Klein (who will be toasting Francisco Costa this evening at the new Wakiya restaurant with Kate Bosworth and Julianne Moore in attendance), and Custo Barcelona all show what’s what for spring.
