Television drama in the 12th district

Andy Warhol said we get 15 minutes of fame, but last week when they went on television to tape a segment of about that length on Channel 9, it was 15 minutes of torturous talking over each other for district 12 state Senate candidates Sen. Ellen Karcher and Assemblywoman Jennifer Beck.
In a moment-to-moment political cycle with almost two weeks to go, Beck had the last laugh on Sunday, as the Asbury Park Press’ strongly endorsed her over Karcher, giving the GOP campaign a few hours of celebration before they realized they’d better get ready for the next round.
“It was this time in the last election that they started rolling out the most vicious attack ads,” said Tom Fitzsimmons, spokesman for the Beck campaign. “We’re bracing to see what happens.”
Regardless of what ads come out of either campaign, there’s going to be more TV studio time for these women. The senate candidates have another taping scheduled tomorrow, Tuesday, with News 12 and on Friday with NJ News lead political reporter Michael Aro.
