Corzine set to name Howard as Health Commissioner

Governor Jon Corzine is expected to nominate one of his top policy advisors, Heather Howard, to serve as the state Commissioner of Health and Senior Services. Howard, who served on Corzine's U.S. Senate staff before moving to the front office in 2006, would replace Dr. Fred Jacobs, who has made his wish to leave the cabinet fairly clear in recent months.

Howard, a Princeton resident, served on the Clinton White House staff, where she was a policy advisor to the First Lady.
