A $6.7 million Lenox Hill townhouse sale was the only big-money action of the weekend.
The sellers were Helene Jaffe and Robert Brodegaard, partners at their respective law firms of Weil Gotshal & Manges and Thompson & Knight. They sold their historic residence at 228 East 62rd Street for less than the asking price of $7,495,000, according to the listing with Halstead Property. And while they may have settled, they can’t really complain considering that they purchased the property for $1,813,725 in September of last year.
The buyers were Douglas Benson and Paul Dassenko, who recently sold their East 58th Street condo for $8,906,800. Mr. Dassenko was appointed president and CEO of Converium Reinsurance in 2004, but the company was purchased by the French reinsurer SCOR in August.
