Halloween might be over … so how come so many gals are wearing what can only be considered costumes: pull-on wrinkly cowboylike boots and drop-waist shirts over colorful leggings really? And while we’re at it, here are some other things sticking in our craw: dudes who break up with their girlfriends just as the clocks have turned back and winter fat sets in. Also, those subway staircase lurkers, chatting on their cells while listening for the subway—move aside!! Tonight the unstoppable Donna Karan celebrates her new “fragrance collection” (when did we stop calling it perfume?), DKNY Delicious Night, with a nice smelling party in the West Village. Hot stuff Ali Larter from Heroes (which we’ve stopped liking but can’t stop watching), the incredibly shrinking Christina Ricci and ageless Marisa Tomei (whose sex scene with naked Philip Seymour Hoffman in Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead we can’t get out of our heads … no matter how hard we try!) raise a glass of something sparkly. Conscious rapper Common will perform. Next! Conan O’Brien, no doubt worried sick over the WGA strike, brings his adorable moon face to Town Hall to host New York Comedy Festival’s Stand-Up for Heroes: A Benefit for the Bob Woodruff Family Fund. All sorts of folks will show up, most excitingly, Bruce Springsteen, manic Robin Williams, newsman Brian Williams (no relation!), James Gandolfini, Diane Sawyer, Stephen Colbert, and Lewis Black (whom we’re still a little worried about). The evening will raise funds for those with traumatic brain injuries and other wounds inflicted while serving in the army. Les Moonves and Dan Rather will no doubt be trying to avoid one another backstage. Where the heck is Letterman?

[DKNY Delicious Night Fragrance launch party, 711 Greenwich Street, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., by invitation only; Stand Up for Heroes, Town Hall, 123 West 43rd Street, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., www.the-townhall-nyc.org]
