The New York Times reports that José Canseco has found a new ghostwriter and a new publisher for the book he’s been trying to write about steroid use in baseball. Canseco’s agent won’t say who the new publisher is, but the ghostwriter is former National Enquirer writer Pablo Fenjves, who also ghosted O.J. Simpson’s If I Did It.

The news comes several weeks after Canseco’s original collaborator announced that he was withdrawing from the project because he didn’t think it had enough news value, and two days after Berkley Books, an imprint of Penguin, announced that it was no longer going to publish it.

The book, titled Vindicated, is a sequel to Mr. Canseco’s best-selling Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant ’Roids, Smash Hits and How Baseball Got Big. Canseco Finds New Publisher For Steroids Book, Hires O.J.'S Ghostwriter
