On a conference call with reporters just now to discuss economic issues, Hillary Clinton celebrated (briefly) her victory over “uncommitted” in the Michigan primary yesterday.
“But before I get started with the a few comments about the economy and what I have proposed, I want to thank the people of Michigan for their vote of confidence yesterday. I appreciate greatly their support. Their voices were heard. I have said repeatedly that I will not turn my back on Michigan, that I intend to be a strong partner for [Michigan] Governor Granholm and the other elected officials in Michigan.”
She added, “I am personally humbled and grateful for the support that I received today.”
“Congratulations on the win here,” Governor Granholm, who was also on the conference call, said. “I know the ballot was a little bit unusual but 55 percent of the vote, no matter how you cut it, is impressive when there was an active campaign to get people to vote uncommitted.”
