John McCain’s first public New Jersey rally of his presidential campaign will take place in the home town of his newly named New Jersey state chairman: State Sen. Bill Baroni.
The event will be held at the Colonial Firehouse in Hamilton on Monday at appoximately 12:00pm.
It is unclear whetherMcCain will make any other campaign stops in New Jersey that day.
"We’re putting it in sort of the largest swing town in New Jersey,"said Baroni. "And yes, it also happens to be my home town."
McCain’s rally will be held the day before New Jersey’s presidential primary, in which several recent polls show McCain running neck-and-neck with Rudy Giuliani, the early favorite. The Republican primary winner will get all of the state’s delegates, according to a rule change institute by the Republican State Committee over the summer.
Other prominent New Jersey McCain supporters include State Senators Kevin O'Tool and Sean Kean; GOP State Chairman Tom Wilson; Former State Sen. Bill Gormley; Assemblymen Dave Russo and David Rible; Morris County Freeholder John Murphy; Atlantic County Republican Chairman Keith Davis; Camden County Republican Chairman Rick DiMichele and Bergen County Clerk Kathleen Donovan.
