It seems Mischa Barton has no intention of subscribing to the ‘I’m-just-young-and-having-fun’ excuse following her Dec. 27 D.U.I. arrest.

The 21-year-old actress, who shot to fame as the “hot girl” on Fox’s The O.C., called into Ryan Seacrest’s radio show to talk about the drunken disaster.

“I got a D.U.I. when I was back in L.A.,” she told Mr. Seacrest. “I was pulled over. Obviously, I am 100 percent responsible for my actions, and I am really disappointed in myself. I am not perfect, and I don’t ever intend to do something that stupid again.”

But from the sounds of things, Ms. Barton may not have the strongest willpower on the block. After acknowledging that she doesn’t have a valid driver’s license, she said: “I usually try not to get behind the wheel.” Super!

In the end, she did admit that being in the public eye has its disadvantages. “It is tough when people are talking about you all the time,” Ms. Barton said. “You just have to roll with it. I feel like I’ve got my head on my shoulders pretty good.”
