Anyone looking to party with Barack Obama supporters tonight has options, but the official gathering put together by his campaign will start at 7:30 at the Riviera Cafe and Sports Bar, on 7th Avenue at West 4th Street.
That’s the same Riviera Cafe that, at least during the 2004 World Series, was the safe haven of Boston Red Sox fans from all over the city.
Is it a coincidence that the out-of-town Democratic primary contender’s event is being held at the out-of-town baseball team’s fan bar?
An organizer for the event says he wasn’t aware of the bar’s history, and suggests it was chosen for the large number of TVs.
Which may be true. But at least it’s unlikely that no Hillary Clinton supporter toeing the campaign line will wander in.
