Zar Property NY Scoops Up High-End Megu, Ice Buddha Included

The fancy, glitzy TriBeCa Japanese eatery Megu has a new landlord, as Zar Property NY, led by David and Dario Zar, has agreed to buy the 12,000-square-foot retail condo at 62 Thomas Street, picking up the upscale locale that sports an ice Buddha sculpture inside, David Zar confirmed for The Observer.

Megu, which first opened in 2004 in the space of the Japanese restaurant Obeca Li, expanded to open a midtown spot in Donald Trump’s World Tower in 2006.

The price of the space was not disclosed.
