Chocolate and heartache? Snap out of it! With a photo exhibit in honor of the 60th anniversary of the state of Israel! The Museum of Jewish Heritage opens a show of work by Paul Goldman chronicling events leading up to Israel’s statehood. And over at the Mattel Showroom, an event with considerably less gravitas: boldface-name-for-hire Nick Lachey (a man who must be hurting for a buck these days) turns up to unveil the four billionth Hot Wheels car, a toy which is encrusted with diamonds and valued at $140,000. Perhaps the dope who paid $100,000,000 for Damien Hirst’s diamond-encrusted skull will buy this swell object.
