Howlett is Corzine’s new Communications Director

Gov. Jon Corzine is expected to name Star-Ledger reporter Deborah Howlett as his new Communications Director. Howlett has been covering Corzine as a Star-Ledger statehouse reporter. She replaced Anthony Coley, who left in December.

Howlett is the second Star-Ledger staffer to leave this month. Tom Moran, the newspaper’s political columnist, has taken a post with PSE&G.

Corzine’s press secretary is Lilo Stainton, a former Gannett statehouse reporetr. Stainton joined Corzine’s staff two years after leaving New Jersey.
