Saturday, March 1st

March starts off with a bang! The maniacs at the Junior League blow the doors off Cipriani with their 56th Winter Ball, this one called “An Evening at Versailles,” hosted by Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer. See, just when you thought your chances of marrying a Princeton man were slim, here’s a big ball sure to be bursting with ’em! Then, it’s your last night to see the Black Comedy Experiment Fest, which, saith its mastermind, New York comic Elon James White, aims to show “there’s a lot of different ways you can go within black comedy.” Mr. White gave us a preview of his act! “I’m from Bed-Stuy. People always ask, ‘What’s the difference, coming up in the ghetto?’ And I say, ‘Well, I didn’t have much to do growing up. Why would you watch television to find out what happened in the past five hours outside your window? It was like: ‘A man was shot today.’ And I’m like, ‘I know, Enrique talks too much!’”
