Here’s the latest video Eliot Spitzer posted on YouTube, where he talks about his plan for higher education.
At about the 3:20 mark, Spitzer says, “We need to separate college funding from the politics of Albany,” and later goes on to explain, “To do this, I’m proposing a $4 billion endowment fund to support our state’s higher education system.”
The 5 minute clip ends with Spitzer encouraging viewers to contact their legislators and urge them to support the plan. It’s a worthy cause, to be sure. But one detail not mentioned is where the $4 billion comes from: leasing future proceeds of the state’s lottery system.
