The downtown hotel-loving father-and-son duo John and Jeffrey Lam are planning yet another for Lower Manhattan, as the development firm Lam Generation is seeking to put up a 30-story, 180-room tower at 161 Front Street, designed by architect Peter Poon.

Between John Lam, who is CEO of the Lam Group, and his son Jeffrey, who runs Lam Generation, the two have projects at various stages of planning and construction that account for about 2,000 hotel rooms throughout the city, according to John Lam. Mr. Lam said he has 1,000 rooms planned or under development downtown, most notably the 660-room Sheraton at 217 Pearl Street currently under construction.

A building permit application for the Front Street project was filed this month.
