McPherson’s Port Authority Pulling Into the Atlantic

Conor McPherson’s The Seafarer might be wrapping its Broadway run on Sunday at the Booth, but the Irish playwright won’t be put out to sea for too long on New York stages. Atlantic Theater Company will present the New York premiere of McPherson’s 2001 play Port Authority, starting previews April 30 for a May 21 opening, according to Variety. Henry Wishcamper will direct Brian D’Arcy James, John Gallagher Jr. and Jim Norton in the story of three generations of Irishmen grappling with loss, failure and the elusiveness of love in contemporary Dublin.
