Saxton takes a shot at Kelly

GOP congressional candidate Jack Kelly has ticked off the man he wants to replace by suggesting in a Philadelphia Inquirer editorial board meeting that retiring twelve-term Republican Congressman Jim Saxton is interfering in the primary campaign. Saxton says Kelly’s charge is “borderline absurd.”

“Why wouldn’t I have an opinion on who’s the best candidate?” said Saxton, who has endorsed former Medford Mayor Christopher Myers to replace him in Congress. “Last time I checked, I’m still a resident of the third district, and I still am a registered voter. I have a right to support whoever I think will be the best candidate, and that is Chris Myers. Chris Myers is unmatched as a candidate in the primary, and is by far the best bet to win in November. Chris Myers is the only candidate to have created jobs, served his country in combat and successfully lead his town during a disaster.”
