CWA splits endorsements

While the largest branch of the Communications Workers of America backed Rob Andrews for Senate last week, two of the union’s smaller locals stuck with incumbent Frank Lautenberg.

On Friday, CWA Locals 1039 and 1032 endorsed the incumbent Senator. Combined, the two have about 12,000 members.

“CWA Local 1039 is happy to endorse Frank Lautenberg for Senate. Whether it is supporting the Employee Free Choice Act or working to make health care more affordable and accessible, Sen. Lautenberg has always fought for working families. Our members feel that Frank Lautenberg is the right choice for New Jersey and deserves to stay in the United States Senate,” said CWA Local 1039 President Thomas J. Palermo Jr.

On Fiday, Local 1034, which has about 16,000 members and is headed by ex gubernatorial girlfriend Carla Katz, backed Andrews.
