Editor of Dangerous Book For Boys Returns to HarperCollins After a Brief Stint at Workman

Matthew Benjamin, the editor best known for acquiring surprise blockbusters The Dangerous Book for Boys and The Daring Book for Girls, is coming back to the Collins division of HarperCollins after a seven month-long stint at the indie house Workman Publishing. He will serve as a senior editor in the wellness/lifestyle unit of the division, which has been on an aggressive hiring spree as of late, where he will report to Mary Ellen O’Neill.

Mr. Benjamin surprised publishing industry observers last fall when he announced that he was leaving Collins for Workman. In an email, Collins president and publisher Steve Ross said he was "heartbroken" when Mr. Benjamin left, and that his return is "cause for rejoicing."

Mr. Benjamin’s homecoming is planned for April 28th, according to an announcement. Expect the back-story on Media Mob when we get it. Editor of Dangerous Book For Boys Returns to HarperCollins After a Brief Stint at Workman
