In a brief interview yesterday, Gerstein told me Gotham Ghostwriters “is not going to do very much political writing.” Instead the company will be involved with “major corporations,” “advocacy work” and people in the “thought-leadership arena.”

“The timing of the launching of the firm is somewhat fortuitous," he mused, "because of Barack Obama.” The success of the Illinois senator, Gerstein said, provides a “very powerful reminder” of the importance of speeches and communication skills.
