Kimberly Peirce, the director of Stop Loss and Boys Don’t Cry, will receive the Andrew Sarris Award during the Columbia University Film Festival on May 9 at the McGraw-Hill Theater. The award honors service and artistic achievement of Columbia alums and the recipient is selected by the school’s film students. Ms. Peirce graduated in 1996.
