Citing his years of work in the United States Senate on behalf of working families, Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) Local 108 today announced they are endorsing Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg for re-election.
“Local 108 is proud to stand with our friend and New Jersey’s Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) in his bid for reelection,” said RWDSU Local 108 President Charles N. Hall Jr. “The record shows he possesses the leadership skills necessary to represent New Jersey’s working families in these difficult times. We will work for Senator Lautenberg by contacting our members to urge them to vote in the June 3rd primary. We will be there for Senator Lautenberg because he is there for us.”
According to a Lautenberg campaign press release, the union represents 6,000 members across New Jersey.
To date, Lautenberg has received the endorsements of more than 156,000 union members across New Jersey, including members of Atlantic Council IFPTE, the Transport Workers Union of America, United Transportation Union, Amalgamated Lithographers of America Local One, Communications Workers of America District One and Locals 1039, 1032, 1031, 1037, 1089, United Food and Commercial Workers Local 464A, Health Professionals and Allied Employees, and others.
Of today’s RWDSU Local 108 endorsement, Lautenberg said, “I have always been proud to stand strong with our hard working families in the labor movement and across our state, so I am honored to have the support of RWDSU Local 108 and its members. The Bush Administration has been no friend to labor, but these men and women know that they will always have a friend and ally in the Senate as long as I am there.”
