New Jersey Citizen Action’s Political Action Committee, which represents more than 100 community, labor, senior, faith-based, women, civil rights and neighborhood organizations, has endorsed Frank Lautenberg for the Democratic U.S. Senate nomination. The group claims to represent 60,000 individual family members.
“This year the war, affordable health care and campaign finance reform top the list of issues our members and the public at large care about,” said NJCA PAC Chair Mitchell Kahn. “Senator Lautenberg’s voting record, our history of working together with him on many issues and his responses to our 2008 candidate questionnaire made him the clear choice for our organization. His outspoken resolve to end the war in Iraq and bring our troops home and efforts to reverse the Bush administration’s upside down priorities that seek to cut critical human needs programs in order to fund irresponsible tax breaks for very wealthy corporations and individuals demonstrate the kind of courage and commitment to progressive values we want in Washington.”
