The new Staten Island Advance City Hall reporter, Peter Spencer, made his debut today.
He’s a native of Elizabeth, New Jersey and has been a general assignment reporter for the paper until now, “covering cops, mostly.” (His ledes include this one from an April 20, 2008 article: "An airbag saved Frank Opongwiredu’s life. Then it helped convict him of manslaughter.")
When Spencer stopped by my desk this afternoon, I asked him about the fate of his predecessor’s blog, City Hall Insider. Spencer said he’ll try keeping it up, but first will work on things like finding his way around the building.
