David Mixner, an influential gay rights activist and Obama backer, thinks Hillary Clinton’s concession speech was so good that it should resolve any issues other Obama people might have had with her during the primary fight.
“Any candidate who was on the receiving end of that speech, as Barack Obama was, could not have possibly asked for more,” said Mixner, adding, “She went to an extraordinary length not only to bring the party together but to ensure her leadership in the party for years to come.”
But the trick, he said, will be for her to convince her supporters to get over their own hard feelings.
“There were people who were passionate supporters of hers who intellectually know they should back Obama, but spiritually and emotionally they aren’t there yet. She can help them do that.”
