Thompson: NYCEDC Didn't Send Water Bills for 22 Years

Here’s Comptroller Bill Thompson at a press conference in his office today, where he said that the city Economic Development Corporation has failed, for the last 22 years, to charge subtenants at the Brooklyn Army Terminal for water or sewage. The city has lost out out on about $4.5 million in revenues as a result.

“So, while the city ignores water and sewer fees owed to it by its own subsidiaries and their own tenants, it is charging, or some would say gouging, taxpayers more than ever,” Thompson said.
