Who’s off the Power List?

Stuart Rabner (#1): As Chief Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court, he no longer fits the criteria for the Power Lists – Judges aren’t included.

Craig Carton & Ray Rossi (#9): The departure of Craig Carton from “The Jersey Guys” diminished their political clout – Casey Bartholemew isn’t there yet.

Juan Melli (#17): He’s leaving BlueJersey.com to become Associate Editor of Politicker.com. As one of our employees, he’s not eligible for the list.

Mary Jane Cooper & Paula Franzese (#18): The New Jersey Inspector General & State Ethics Commission Chairwoman, respectively,

David Kocieniewski (#19): One of the very best reporters around, but he’s no longer spending a lot of time in New Jersey. Neither is his newspaper.

Ivan Zapien (#38): He left his job as Bob Menendez’s Chief of Staff.

Ken Zimmerman (#42): He’s no longer Chief Counsel to the Governor.

Robert Rasinski (#50): Who? He was the State Trooper who was behind the wheel of Jon Corzine’s car during the April 2007 accident that nearly killed the Governor.

Herb Stern (#68): No longer the federal monitor for UMDNJ.

Regina Carlson (#70): The anti-smoking activist retired.

David Rebovich (#73): Our favorite college professor, pundit, and PolitickerNJ.com columnist, passed away in October 2007. We miss him!

Alan Marcus (#77): The public relations executive has cut back on his lobbying activities.

Marie Tasy (#86): The New Jersey Right to Life leader doesn’t seem to be relevant in elections. Her candidates don’t seem to win, i.e. Joe Pennacchio in the 2008 U.S. Senate primary.

Bill Sheehan (#94): The Hackensack Riverkeeper Executive Director lost clout by backing unpopular measures in Bergen County.

Robert Roe (#95): The former Chairman of the House Transportation and Public Works Committee, now a lobbyist, is getting old. And a DUI caused the Legislature to remove his name from Route 23. Who’s off the Power List?
