John Adler, the Democratic nominee in New Jersey's 3rd Congressional District, today announced that his campaign raised over $720,000 in the second quarter of 2008.

"We had a very good quarter," said Adler, whosecampaign has now raised over $1.9 million for the cycle.

The campaign has received over 2,700 donations, nearly 70% of which have come from local New Jersey residents, according to campaign manager Raiyan Syed.

"Thousands of people across the district have donated their time and money to our campaign because they believe that John Adler is the only candidate in this race who will help create good paying jobs for our middle class, make health care affordable for all Americans, responsibly end the war in Iraq, and end the political bickering that is blocking progress in Washington," said Syed.

"People are volunteering for the campaign and working hard to help elect John Adler to Congress because they are hungry for new leadership and a new direction."

Adler is running against Republican Christopher Myers, the mayor of Medford and a vice president at Lockheed Martin. Both are hoping to succeed retiring U.S. Rep. Jim Saxton (R-3). Adler close to $2 million in fund-raising totals
