Levy avoids prison, gets six months probation

Former Atlantic City Mayor Robert Levy, who resigned last year after a disappearing for two weeks, received six month probation for falsifying his military service record. He earned a Bronze Star in Vietnam, but claimed to be a Green Beret and to have received combat infantryman and parachutist badges. He was also fined $5,000, and has agreed to repay $24,683 in veterans benefits.
