Vice chairman of Sotheby’s George Wachter and software executive Aso O. Tavitian will serve on the Frick Collection’s board of trustees, according to the New York Sun.

Mr. Tavitian was the co-founder and chief executive officer of Syncsort Inc., a company that makes data management software. He has also been a longtime supporter of the Frick, having joined the Director’s Circle in 2006, and maintains a personal art collection that includes old master paintings, Renaissance sculpture, 18th-century English furniture, and Persian rugs.
Mr. Wachter has been an active supporter of the Frick for 10 years. He became a member of the Council of The Frick Collection in 2004 and is currently serving as the council’s chairman. Mr. Wachter began working for Sotheby’s in 1973 and is now the co-chairman of Old Master Paintings Worldwide.
