MINNEAPOLIS—Here’s Tom Basile, a Republican operative from Nyack who helped organize President Bush and Clinton’s joint visit to tsunami-ravaged Asia in 2005.
Earlier today John McCain announced that most convention events planned for tomorrow will be canceled, and the rest of the convention considered on a day-by-day basis.
Here in the Twin Cities, Basile was already on message.
At the Marriott Hotel, where the New York delegation and reporters are staying, he told me, “There is a new mission, and a new focus."
He added, "At a time of a national emergency, it’s not it’s politics as usual.”
