Frederick T. Frelinghuysen was the U.S. Secretary of State under President Chester Arthur.
He also served as a Newark City Councilman, state Attorney General, U.S. Senator, and U.S. Minister to England. He is the great-great-grandfather of Rodney P. Frelinghuysen.
