ALBANY—Chalk up one, albeit for now tepid, supporter in Ruben Diaz Jr.’s column in his run for Borough President.
Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, whose district includes Riverdale, says he thinks fellow member Ruben Diaz Jr. would be a great replacement for Adolfo Carrion, who was tapped by President-elect Barack Obama to head the White House Office of Urban Policy.
“I haven’t looked too hard at the field, but one of my colleagues has said he’s running,” Dinowitz said earlier this week at an event calling for the elimination of the Electoral College. “He’s been an excellent Assembly member and I think he’d be an excellent borough president.”
Councilman Joel Rivera is also a likely candidate.
