Does the Cuomo Plan Go Far Enough?

An impressive roster of people is behind a plan unveiled yesterday to reduce the layers of local government, but at least one says it doesn't go far enough.

We wrote before about Paul Feiner's campaign to abolish county government, and he sent an e-mail yesterday calling the plan a "great idea" but suggesting it be expanded to include counties, which the current plan doesn't allow.

"Voters should have the ability to petition to eliminate, consolidate all levels of government–including county government," Feiner, the Greenburgh town supervisor, wrote.

Of course, the plan in its current form is far from a done deal. Does the Cuomo Plan Go Far Enough?
