Assemblyman Mike Doherty (R-Washington Twp.) released two new endorsements for his state senate campaign today, including one from Hunterdon County.
Doherty has the support of former Hunterdon County Sheriff William Doyle, who held that position from 1996 until he retired in 2007, and current Warren County Sheriff Sal Simonetti.
“Over the years, I have worked closely with Mike on many issues and have always been extremely impressed by his efforts on behalf of taxpayers,” said Doyle. “He has been a strong leader in Trenton and he has consistently fought for smaller government, less regulation and lower taxes.”
The Hunterdon and Warren County Republican Committees will meet next month to pick an interim replacement for state Sen. Leonard Lance (R-Flemington), who’s resigning to move up to the U.S. House of Representatives. Also running is Assemblywoman Marcia Karrow (R-Flemington) and Hunterdon County Freeholder Matt Holt.
