The fundraising wing of the New Jersey Network voiced its support today for former anchor Kent Manahan’s appointment as Acting Executive Director.
Manahan was appointed to the position last week by The New Jersey Public Broadcasting Authority to fill in for Elizabeth G. Christopherson, who officially stepped down on December 1.
As Executive Director, Manahan will also serve as president of the NJN Foundation, which raises funds for the network.
“Kent brings to the post not only an extraordinary depth and breadth of experience, but also a deep commitment to NJN’s public service mission,” said foundation chair Douglas Eakeley. “She is highly regarded among NJN employees and has the admiration of the people of New Jersey. We are grateful that Kent responded to the call of service.”
Manahan was replaced as anchor by political correspondent Jim Hooker.
