Walking by City Councilman Miguel Martinez of Manhattan in City Hall just now, I asked him if he’s excited about our state’s new senator, Kirsten Gillibrand.

“Hell no,” he said.

Maybe things will get better after she meets with Latino lawmakers this weekend.
