Rudy Giuliani had some kind words for Caroline Kennedy today, calling her a “very distinguished citizen, someone who’s contributed a great deal to the city and the state.” A woman, he said, “of a lot of accomplishment and great reputation.”
When asked about Senate-designee Kirsten Gillibrand, Giuliani said only that he’s backing Pete King, the Long Island congressman who has said he will challenge whoever is nominated. Citing King's experience, the former mayor said King is “one of the biggest experts” in “safety and security.”
He added that he respects the governor's decision, and that he knows it was "a tough one."
"Took him a while," Giuliani said.
