According to the description provided in the newsletter, which was sent to various editors today, Mr. Kachka’s book is tentatively called Hothouse. It will tell the story of the late Roger Straus, who co-founded FSG in 1946, as well his partner Robert Giroux, his son, Roger III, and all the other "eccentrics… who worked in the cramped, musty, and unfashionable offices at 19 Union Square West."

The blurb promises not "just a publishing story," but a "mesmerizing look at a distinctive and distinguished business run like no other."
