WILLIAM SAXBE

Republican Bill Saxbe, 92, was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1968, winning an open seat againt future Ohio Gov. John Gilligan, the father of Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. Following Watergate's Saturday Night Massacre, President Nixon appointed Saxbe as the new U.S. Attorney General. He later became U.S. Ambassador to India under President Ford.
