Michael Blooomberg has hired plenty of Democratic operatives for his re-election campaign. But he’s also added some with Republican credentials.
According to a campaign spokesman, the campaign has hired Michael Avella to do legal work and consulting, and Korinne Kubena, who will be doing field work.
Avella has done extensive legal work with Senate Republicans in Albany as the general counsel to the Senate majority leader and the majority counsel to the New York Republican State Committee.
Kubena worked in the Bush White House as an associate director in the Office of Political Affairs, from January 2007 to August 2008. Before going to the White House, Kubena worked for Bloomberg as the chief of staff to one of his deputy mayors, Kevin Sheekey.
