Bloomberg Not Totally Thrilled With Obama’s Cap on Executive Pay

When asked at his press conference this morning if anyone “crunched” the numbers on how Obama’s plan to cap executive pay for companies receiving government aid would impact New York City’s economy, Michael Bloomberg noted, “One percent of the tax payers pay 44 percent of our taxes.”

He went on, “Before you change tax policy, you got to think really hard about it.” He added that he’s “very concerned” about businesses moving out of the city.

But didn’t completely condemn the idea, later adding that it’s “not great” for government to tell private businesses what to do, but that should be “strings attached” to public money.
