"He is working on a limited amount of freelance for Marie Claire on the website only, on a trial basis," a spokesperson for the magazine told the Daily Transom.

Before Mr. Shi left the Daily, he expressed a desire to get some reality show exposure. Last April, a rumor was circling around that he was hoping to be a contestant on CBS’ The Amazing Race with pal Leslie Fremar, a stylist to actresses Jennifer Connelly and Maggie Gyllenhaal. But when Mr. Shi departed from the Daily in June, he did not announce any immediate plans; he and Ms. Fremar never appeared on the show.

Marie Claire is of course getting close to premiering a reality show of its own on the Style Network in March. Unfortunately for Mr. Shi, he will not be appearing on the show alongside fashion director Nina Garcia, according to the magazine’s spokesperson.

Mr. Shi declined to comment on his new position.
