Bloomberg Says His Money Doesn’t Drive Away Opponents

One day after Anthony Weiner indicated he may drop out of the mayor’s race, Michael Bloomberg told reporters he doesn’t think the vast amounts of money he can and almost surely will pour into his re-election will result in fewer candidates running against him.

“There’s no evidence to me that there are fewer candidates running,” Bloomberg said. Then he said, “We don’t preclude you from running because you got a better education than I did or are better looking or more photogenic.”
