On the AIG bonus-disclosure issue, the Queens Chronicle editorial board said, “To see a state’s top law enforcement official threaten people who did nothing illegal” opens “a frightening new chapter in the relationship between government and citizen in the U.S.”
“I would like to see it stay the freedom tower,” said Michael Bloomberg, who noted it is “not up to me.” Bloomberg, on his radio show this morning, also said that from the “responsible point of view, they should” rename it, but that from a patriotic point of view, they shouldn’t.
Bloomberg is likely to get the Independence Party line, after promising its leaders money and other things.
