Sylvia Clark Edge, a former President of the state Board of Nursing and one of the first African Americans to receive a nursing degree from Rutgers University, died on Wednesday. She was the first African American to serve as the Dean of Nursing at Passaic County Community College.
Also on Wednesday, Edward “Skip” McMahon, a longtime Morris County Republican leader, passed away after a battle with cancer. He was a former Republican State Committeeman and Chatham GOP Municipal Chairman.
